Dr. Soumendu Pal

Dr. Soumendu Pal is an Associate Staff Physician in Anesthesiology at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Integrated Hospital Care Institute. With over 24 years of clinical experience, he specializes in providing anesthetic care for complex surgical and critical cases, particularly those involving the heart, lungs, and blood vessels.

Dr. Pal trained at some of India's leading medical institutions. He earned his medical degree from Calcutta Medical College in Kolkata—the first medical college established in Asia—and completed his residency in Anesthesiology at the Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research, a tertiary national research institute. He then specialized further in cardiothoracic and vascular anesthesiology at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology in Trivandrum. Before moving to Abu Dhabi, he held consultant positions in cardiac anesthesia at B.M. Birla Heart Research Centre and Fortis Hospital, both leading centers in India.

Dr. Pal is fluent in English, Hindi, and Urdu, making him accessible to a diverse patient population. His depth of experience in managing anesthesia for heart surgery, vascular procedures, and other complex operations makes him well suited for patients requiring specialized perioperative care.
