Dr. Naveed Ahmed

Dr. Naveed Ahmed is a Staff Physician in the General Surgery Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Digestive Disease Institute, bringing over 25 years of surgical experience. He trained in Pakistan and the United States, completing his medical degree at Punjab University in Lahore, followed by surgical residency in New York and further fellowship training in surgical critical care and transplant surgery at Cleveland Clinic. Before joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, he held senior roles at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and Cleveland Clinic's Huron Hospital in Ohio, where he served as Chief of General Surgery, Director of Trauma Services, and helped establish the Surgical Intensive Care Unit.

Dr. Ahmed specializes in complex abdominal surgery, hepatobiliary (liver and bile duct) procedures, transplant surgery for kidney and liver, trauma and critical care, and endocrine surgery. He has extensive experience managing complex surgical cases and has led quality improvement projects. He is board-certified by the American Board of General Surgery and the American Board of Surgical Intensive Care, and completed advanced fellowship training in multi-organ abdominal transplant surgery.

Since 2000, Dr. Ahmed has mentored medical students and residents in surgery, anesthesia, and ENT, earning multiple teaching awards. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and holds active memberships in major surgical associations. He is well-suited for patients requiring complex abdominal surgery, transplant evaluation, or care in intensive surgical settings.
