Dr. Amer Elbaba

Dr Amer Elbaba is a British consultant gynaecological surgeon with 16 years of experience across UK public and private hospitals. He is dual-qualified by the Royal College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists—a distinction held by very few surgeons. He completed his medical degree in 2004, followed by research and surgical training in London, Northampton and Sheffield, with advanced qualifications in urogynaecology, benign gynaecology and advanced intrapartum care.

Dr Elbaba specializes in minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery for women's health problems. He offers expert treatment for pelvic floor disorders including prolapse and urinary incontinence, heavy periods and fibroids, ovarian cysts, and endometriosis. He also manages menopause-related symptoms both with and without hormones. He introduced several complex surgical techniques to his workplace, including autologous fascial slings for stress incontinence, laparoscopic colposuspension and hysteropexy, and Manchester repair procedures.

Dr Elbaba is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Leeds and was elected 'most popular surgical consultant of the year' in 2019. He leads training courses and regularly presents at national and international conferences. He believes in women-centred care and shared decision-making, and receives complex referrals for second opinions from colleagues.
