Dr. Faris Ahmed

Dr. Faris Ahmed is a Staff Physician in the Nephrology Department at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi's Medical Specialty Institute. He brings 19 years of clinical experience in kidney disease and transplantation, with extensive training across leading US academic medical centers. Before joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, he was an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Alabama, where he worked as a transplant nephrologist in the comprehensive transplant institute.

Dr. Ahmed specializes in managing acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, and hypertension, with particular expertise in kidney transplantation. He completed nephrology fellowship training at the University of Chicago and kidney transplant fellowship at Vanderbilt University. He then spent 5 years as Assistant Professor at the University of Utah in the nephrology and kidney and pancreas transplant institute before moving to Alabama.
