Dr. Mahmoud Abdelhakim

Dr Mahmoud Abdelhakim is a Professor of Urology at Cairo University and Consultant Urologist at Al Zahra Hospital Dubai. He trained at Cairo University, completing his medical degree in 2001 and urology residency by 2002, with specialist fellowship in laparoscopic surgery. He furthered his expertise at Hôpital Henri Mondor in France under Prof CC Abbou, and received advanced robotic surgery training at the National Cancer Institute Cairo (2018–2020) on the da Vinci surgical system.

Dr Abdelhakim has completed over 1,200 cases of laser prostate procedures (HOLEP), including cases with prostate sizes exceeding 200 grams, and more than 350 robotic radical prostatectomies. He specializes in treating both benign prostate enlargement—using laser, REZUM, and bipolar techniques—and prostate cancer via robotic keyhole surgery. He also offers advanced laparoscopic reconstruction for complex urological conditions and urologic cancer care.

He is founder and chairman of the Egyptian Society for Robotic Surgery (established December 2024), director of ROBOSURGE (a centre for advanced surgical robotics), and head of laparoscopy and robotics at the Egyptian Urological Association. A Fellow of the European Board of Urology, he is well suited for patients needing complex prostate surgery, robotic-assisted procedures, or cancer-focused urological care.
