Dr. Ayesha Almemari

Dr. Ayesha Almemari is an emergency medicine and critical care consultant at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi, with over 11 years of clinical experience. She holds dual Canadian board certifications in emergency medicine and critical care, and completed her medical degree at Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain. Her career has been marked by significant contributions to medical education and policy—she served as Program Director of the Al Mafraq Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency Program, where she led the programme to achieve accreditation by the ACGME, a major accomplishment in the region.

Dr. Almemari has taken on leadership roles at both the Arab Board and Emirati Board levels. She served on the Emergency Medicine Council examination committee and personally developed the oral examination assessment sheet that continues to be used today. She was elected Secretary of the Arab Board EM Council Executive Committee, where she worked to develop new fellowship programmes in pediatric emergency medicine and toxicology. She currently chairs the Emergency Medicine Council at the Emirati Board.

As a researcher, Dr. Almemari has authored ten publications focused on emergency medicine, quality improvement in clinical practice, and physician burnout. She is fluent in English and Arabic, and her special interest in humanitarian medicine reflects her commitment to care across diverse settings.
