Dr. Isabel Mira

Dr. Isabel Mira is a Staff Physician in Pulmonary Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, bringing 27 years of clinical experience and research in lung disease. She completed her medical degree in Colombia and completed additional training in Internal Medicine at Case Western Reserve University and in Pulmonary and Critical Care at Cleveland Clinic's main campus. Before joining Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, she served as Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Texas in Houston, where she directed the COVID Center of Excellence and collaborated with rheumatology to treat complex lung diseases linked to connective tissue disorders.

Dr. Mira specializes in interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, and bronchiectasis. She founded the Interstitial Lung Disease and Rheumatology-Pulmonary programs at Mayo Clinic Florida, where she worked as a Consultant and Associate Program Director. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Her clinical work spans general pulmonary care, rare genetic lung conditions, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and hypersensitivity pneumonitis.

Dr. Mira has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and contributed book chapters, primarily on interstitial lung disease and pulmonary hypertension. She is an active member of the American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society, Society of Critical Care Medicine, and European Respiratory Society, presenting regularly at national and international conferences. She has mentored medical students, internal medicine residents, and pulmonary fellows throughout her career.
