Dr. Marwa Hassan

Dr. Marwa Hassan is a Senior Consultant ophthalmologist with extensive training and experience across general, paediatric and emergency eye conditions. She completed her medical degree and master's degree in Ophthalmology at Ain-Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, and went on to earn her FRCS qualifications from The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She has also completed clinical training through the International Council of Ophthalmology. Dr. Hassan has worked at several respected institutions in Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, building a broad skill set in managing both common and complex eye disorders.

She specialises in refractive eye diseases (such as short-sightedness and long-sightedness), corneal disorders, eye misalignment (strabismus), amblyopia (lazy eye), and paediatric eye conditions. Her general practice encompasses allergies, dry eyes, glaucoma (high eye pressure), cataracts, uveitis (eye inflammation), eyelid and orbital disorders, and eye problems related to diabetes, thyroid disease and high blood pressure. She also has expertise in neuro-ophthalmology. Her research interests include laser vision correction, glaucoma, optic nerve disease, and corneal degenerations.
