Dr. Arif Ahmed Adenwala

Dr. Arif Adenwala is an ophthalmologist with 17 years of experience providing comprehensive eye care in Sharjah. He trained at Government Medical College in India for his medical degree and master's qualification, followed by fellowship training in cataract and phacoemulsification at a specialist eye hospital in Pune. He further developed his expertise through postgraduate qualifications including DNB Ophthalmology and a fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons Glasgow. His additional training includes a diploma in cataract and refractive surgery from the University of Ulster under Prof Dan Reinstein, and a fellowship from the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Adenwala has developed particular expertise in corneal disease, having trained at L V Prasad Eye Hospital in India and in the management of keratoconus and corneal cross-linking with Prof Theo Selier in Zurich. He is experienced in laser eye surgery, cataract surgery using phacoemulsification, refractive procedures, and glaucoma management. He previously served as head of the ophthalmology department at a major healthcare group for over 15 years, where he established a fully equipped eye service. He treats patients across all age groups, from newborns to elderly patients.

Dr. Adenwala is active in academic medicine, having conducted instructional courses at major international conferences including ESCRS and AAO, and presented research at both international and national meetings. He serves as a reviewer for the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology and has contributed chapters to international ophthalmology textbooks.
