Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdelshafy Salem Omara

Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdelshafy Salem Omara is a cardiology specialist at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi, with over 15 years of clinical experience. He earned his medical degree with honours from Ain Shams University in 2009, followed by five years of fellowship training in cardiology at Nasser Institute Hospital, where he completed the Egyptian Fellowship in Cardiology in 2019. He also completed additional training in interventional cardiology and holds a Master's Degree in Cardiovascular Medicine from Menoufia University.

Dr. Omara has extensive expertise across all areas of cardiology, including outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, coronary care units, and emergency cardiology. He is particularly skilled in managing ischemic heart disease (heart attacks and reduced blood flow to the heart), heart failure, and irregular heartbeats. He routinely performs echocardiograms (heart ultrasounds), interprets ECGs (electrical heart tracings), conducts Holter monitoring (24-hour heart rhythm recordings), exercise stress tests, and pre-operative cardiac assessments to ensure patients are safe for surgery.

Before moving to Abu Dhabi, Dr. Omara gained valuable experience at several leading Egyptian hospitals, including Nasser Institute Hospital (over 15 years) and Wadi El-Neel Hospital (over 10 years), as well as Cardiotech Cardiology & Cardiac Cath Unit and Zaitoun Specialised Hospital in Cairo. He is a member of both the Egyptian and European Societies of Cardiology, reflecting his commitment to international cardiology standards.
