Dr. Eyad Alakrad

Dr. Eyad Alakrad is an American Board Certified Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist, and Director of GI Motility Disorders at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi. With over 20 years of experience, he has trained extensively in leading hospitals and universities across the UK and USA, building deep expertise in both general gastroenterology and hepatology.

Dr. Alakrad specializes in motility disorders — conditions affecting how food moves through the digestive tract. He performs general endoscopy (camera examination of the digestive system), endoscopic placement of temporary gastric stimulators to help the stomach function, and specialized tests including oesophageal manometry (pressure testing of the swallowing tube), anorectal manometry (pressure testing of the bowel outlet), pH impedance monitoring, and pH capsule studies.
