Dr. Izhar Hashmi

Dr. Izhar Hashmi is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist with 34 years of experience across the UK, Middle East, and Pakistan, including over 19 years specializing in heart and cardiovascular medicine in the United Kingdom. He trained at leading UK teaching hospitals including Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Manchester University Hospitals, Freeman Hospital Newcastle, and Sheffield Teaching Hospital, and most recently practised at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust where he managed complex interventional cases and trained junior cardiologists.

Dr. Hashmi specializes in treating acute heart attacks, blocked coronary arteries requiring intervention, and complex heart valve and rhythm disorders. His procedural expertise includes primary angioplasty (PCI) for acute heart attacks, multi-vessel interventions, complex bifurcation cases, rotational atherectomy (rotablation), advanced imaging (IVUS and OCT), and chronic total occlusion (CTO) procedures. He also manages heart failure, irregular heartbeats, fainting episodes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and provides preventive cardiovascular care.
