Dr. Hussam Ismael

Dr. Hussam Ismael is an American board-certified consultant surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He directs the thoracic surgery programme at American Hospital Dubai and is an Assistant Professor of Surgery, passionate about training the next generation of surgeons. He completed his internship at Henry Ford Hospital and Wayne State University in Michigan, followed by general surgery residency at the University of South Florida, and specialized thoracic oncology fellowship training at Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida.

Dr. Ismael manages both benign and malignant diseases of the chest and abdomen, with particular expertise in lung cancer, esophageal cancer, and mediastinal tumors. He has performed over 500 robotic surgical cases and specializes in minimally invasive approaches for gallbladder removal, hernia repair, colon surgery, and other abdominal procedures. He also treats breast diseases, skin melanoma, and soft tissue tumors, as well as emergency conditions like bowel obstruction and pancreatitis.
