Dr. Homero Rivas

Dr. Homero Rivas is a Consultant Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgeon at Mediclinic City Hospital in Dubai, where he also serves as Professor of Surgery and Associate Dean of Innovation and the Future at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences. He brings 18 years of international clinical and academic experience, having previously held the position of Associate Professor of Surgery and Director of Innovative Surgery at Stanford University. He completed his general surgery training at the University of North Dakota, followed by advanced fellowships in Minimally Invasive Surgery at the University of Louisville and Hospital Clinic in Barcelona, Spain.

Dr. Rivas specializes in bariatric surgery (weight-loss procedures including gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy), laparoscopic and robotic surgery, gastrointestinal and colorectal conditions, liver and bile duct surgery, and advanced endoscopic procedures.
