Dr. Marija Hadji Lega

Prof. Marija Hadji Lega is an internationally trained maternal-fetal medicine specialist and obstetrician-gynaecologist with more than 25 years of clinical experience. She completed her medical training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and specialist training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Skopje in North Macedonia, with advanced clinical education at leading hospitals including King's College Hospital in London, Wayne State University in Detroit, and centres in Vienna, Hamburg, and Trieste. She holds a PhD in Perinatal Medicine from Serbia and a Master's degree in Maternal-Fetal Medicine from the University of Barcelona.

Prof. Hadji Lega has recently completed postgraduate diplomas in Fetal Cardiology and Fetal Neurology from Barcelona, becoming officially certified as a Fetal Cardiologist and Fetal Neurologist. She spent 19 years developing advanced fetal medicine services at the University Clinic for Gynaecology and Obstetrics in Skopje, where she headed the Department of High-Risk Pregnancy and Fetal Medicine, and later served as Medical Director and CEO of the clinic for five years. She is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Skopje, actively supervising medical students and resident doctors.

She specialises in advanced fetal ultrasound, detailed fetal heart assessment, fetal brain imaging, first-trimester screening, managing high-risk pregnancies, and caring for twin and multiple pregnancies. Prof. Hadji Lega is a published researcher with numerous peer-reviewed articles in high-impact journals and has led multiple research projects. She speaks at international conferences and serves on the Executive Board of the Mediterranean Society for Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
