Dr. Chidanand Bedjirgi

Dr. Chidanand Bedjirgi is a specialist cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon practising at Zulekha Hospital in Dubai and Sharjah. With 17 years of experience in JCI-accredited hospitals across India and the UAE, he has independently performed more than 3,500 cardiac procedures, 2,700 thoracic operations, and 2,200 vascular surgeries. A gold medallist and university topper, he has trained undergraduate and postgraduate students as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at KBN Medical College in Gulbarga, India.

Dr. Bedjirgi's clinical expertise covers the full spectrum of heart and lung surgery. He performs both traditional and minimally invasive coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), with and without use of the heart-lung machine. He specializes in valve repair and replacement, congenital heart surgery, aortic surgery, and complex cases such as off-pump CABG in patients with rare anatomical variations. In thoracic surgery, he manages lung cancer, lung resections, mediastinal tumours, and decortications using video-assisted keyhole techniques (VATS). His vascular expertise includes aortic aneurysm repair, emergency clot removal (embolectomy), and comprehensive varicose vein treatment using surgical, laser, and chemical methods.

Dr. Bedjirgi is fluent in English, Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, and Malayalam. He is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and a life member of major surgical societies including the Association of Surgeons of India, the Indian Association of Cardio-thoracic and Vascular Surgeons, the European Association of Cardio-thoracic Surgeons, and the Society of Thoracic Surgery in the USA.
