Prof. Khaled Madbouly

Prof. Khaled Madbouly is a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at Burjeel Royal Hospital, Al Ain, with 23 years of experience in colorectal surgery. He holds the position of Professor and Chairman of Colorectal Surgery at Alexandria University in Egypt, and previously served as a Consultant at Cleveland Clinic, Abu Dhabi from 2021 to 2022. He holds multiple international surgical qualifications including FRCS, FACS and FASCRS.

Prof. Madbouly specialises in minimally invasive approaches to colorectal conditions. He treats a wide range of conditions including bowel cancer, inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease), haemorrhoids, anal fistulas, faecal incontinence and rectal prolapse. His expertise spans laparoscopic (keyhole) resection of colon and rectal cancer, advanced haemorrhoid treatments using modern techniques such as staplers and laser ablation, sphincter-preserving fistula repair, and sacral nerve stimulation for faecal incontinence. He manages complex conditions of the bowel and rectum using both traditional and cutting-edge minimally invasive surgical methods.

Prof. Madbouly holds significant leadership roles in colorectal surgery internationally. He is President of the Egyptian Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, President of the Egyptian Board of Colorectal Surgery, and Vice President of the International Society of University Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
