Dr. Muhammad Afzal

Dr. Muhammad Afzal is a UK-trained consultant gastroenterologist with over 14 years of specialist experience. He graduated from Allama Iqbal Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan, before relocating to the UK in 2001 for postgraduate training. He obtained his MRCP in 2003 and completed specialist training in gastroenterology and general internal medicine in 2010, rotating through seven hospitals across three UK regions. He was elected Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 2013 and now practises at Saudi German Hospital in Dubai.

Dr Afzal's clinical expertise spans interventional endoscopy procedures including ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) and endoscopic stenting, removal of large bowel polyps using EMR (endoscopic mucosal resection), colonoscopy for colorectal cancer screening, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, and management of liver, pancreas, and inflammatory bowel disorders. He has served as clinical lead for an endoscopy department and as an educational supervisor for medical trainees.

He is fluent in English, Urdu, Punjabi, and Hindi, making him accessible to patients from diverse backgrounds.
