Dr. Koulshan M. Jameel Mustafa

Dr. Koulshan M. Jameel Mustafa is a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital in Dubai. She trained in Iraq and the UK, holding an MBChB from Mosul University, a DGO from Iraq Medical City in Baghdad, and membership of the Royal College of Gynaecologists (MRCOG) from London. She also holds a Fellowship in Cosmetic Gynaecology and a Diploma in Ultrasound Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Her clinical career spans over two decades in Iraq and more than a decade in the UAE, including leadership roles as Senior Consultant and department head at Sadam General Hospital in Kirkuk, and as Head of Department at Canadian Specialist Hospital and Gargash Hospital in the UAE. She also trained at Lewisham and Royal Free Hospitals in the UK.

Dr. Mustafa has comprehensive expertise in managing pregnancy complications including scar pregnancies, rescue cervical cerclage, high-risk pregnancies, and repeated Caesarean sections. She provides antenatal care, first-trimester chromosomal screening, operative vaginal delivery (vacuum and forceps), and postpartum care. She diagnoses and treats gynaecological conditions including polycystic ovary syndrome, irregular bleeding, cervical dysplasia, and endometriosis. She performs a broad range of minimally invasive and open procedures, including colposcopy, hysteroscopy, laparoscopic surgery, myomectomy, hysterectomy, and ectopic pregnancy management.

She is experienced in family planning, counselling couples with delayed pregnancy, managing adolescent gynaecological problems, and cervical cancer screening including HPV testing and vaccination. Dr. Mustafa has published extensively in women's health and speaks Arabic, English, Kurdish, and Turkish.
