Dr. Eleanor Curtis

Dr. Eleanor Curtis is the Burn Director for the Trauma, Burn, and Rehabilitation Medicine Team at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi, where she also serves as a consultant in burn surgery and critical care. With 14 years of clinical experience, she brings a comprehensive approach to acute injury and recovery.

Dr. Curtis trained at leading US institutions, completing her medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and a general surgery residency at UC Davis. She went on to complete two specialized fellowships at the University of Washington in Seattle—one in burn surgery and critical care, and another in palliative medicine. This dual focus reflects her commitment to treating severe injuries while also supporting patients' comfort and quality of life through all stages of care. She holds the credential of Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.).

Beyond her clinical role, Dr. Curtis is an educator, holding appointments as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine and Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. She has contributed to medical knowledge through teaching, mentoring, and research projects, including clinical work at UC Davis Medical Center.
