Dr. Sarah A. Francis

Dr Sarah Francis is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 15 years of experience in the UK's National Health Service, where she worked across multiple teaching hospitals in the North West and West Midlands before joining American Hospital Dubai. She completed her medical degree at the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences in Sierra Leone, followed by postgraduate specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology at the Royal College in the UK, and holds additional qualifications in family planning, ultrasound, and colposcopy.

Dr Francis specialises in benign gynaecological conditions — abnormal periods, ovarian cysts, fibroids, and polycystic ovary syndrome — as well as paediatric and adolescent gynaecology. She is trained in robotic and standard laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery for conditions such as endometriosis, ectopic pregnancies, and hysterectomy, and performs diagnostic and therapeutic hysteroscopy (camera examination of the womb). In obstetrics, she provides antenatal, labour and postnatal care, managing both straightforward and high-risk pregnancies including breech and twin deliveries, premature births, and Caesarean sections.

A member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy, Dr Francis was instrumental in introducing minimally invasive procedures to ambulatory care at her former NHS trust.
