Dr. Hazem Hashem

Dr. Hazem Hashem is a Consultant Psychiatrist with more than 30 years of clinical experience across the full spectrum of adult and older-adult psychiatry. He graduated from Al Azhar University Medical School in Cairo, Egypt in 1980, then completed clinical training in New York and Connecticut, USA, finishing his psychiatry residency in 1991. He holds board certification in both General Psychiatry (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, 1992) and Forensic Psychiatry (1996).

Throughout his career, Dr. Hazem Hashem has worked in Connecticut and California (until 2011), then in Qatar (2011–2020), building expertise across the breadth of psychiatric conditions and treatments. He has held academic teaching positions with University of California, Davis and Weill Cornell University's Doha campus. He also served as Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar and as Chief of Mental Health in California's Department of Correction, bringing both clinical depth and leadership experience.

He works with adult and senior patients seeking comprehensive psychiatric assessment and treatment. His long experience across general and forensic settings makes him well-suited for complex or medico-legal cases, as well as routine mental-health care.
