Dr. Sergio Mazzei

Dr. Sergio Mazzei is a specialist general surgeon with extensive experience in wound care and tissue management. He trained in Italy, earning his medical degree from the University of Messina in 2005 and completing postgraduate studies in general surgery. He worked as a general surgeon in several Italian hospitals including Milan and Lecco, and spent a significant portion of his career at a leading wound care department in Monza, where he developed deep expertise in treating difficult wounds. Since October 2017, he has served as a trusted doctor for the Consulate General of Italy in Dubai.

Dr. Mazzei specializes in managing diabetic foot ulcers, venous ulcers, and other chronic non-healing wounds. He has performed over 1,000 surgical procedures for wound care throughout his career, using both traditional surgical techniques and advanced methods such as negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT). He also treats ingrown toenails, skin infections, post-surgical wound infections, burns, and pressure injuries.

He is an active researcher and clinician, with multiple publications on wound care treatments and tissue engineering. He has contributed to several international studies investigating advanced wound dressings and healing therapies, combining clinical practice with evidence-based innovation.
