Dr. Mahendra Rajan

Dr. Mahendra Rajan is a consultant general surgeon at Medcare Dubai with 28 years of clinical experience. He trained in India, completing his medical degree at Madras University in 1991 and his Masters in Surgery at Dr. MGR Medical University in 2002, followed by specialist training in bariatric surgery in Taiwan. He spent 8 years in a high-volume tertiary care gastro-surgical unit where he developed expertise in complex upper and lower gastrointestinal procedures.

Dr. Rajan specialises in minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery and performs a wide range of procedures. These include laparoscopic appendix removal, gallbladder and hernia surgery, as well as advanced procedures such as fundoplication (for reflux), colectomy and bowel resection. He has extensive experience with major open surgeries including liver resection, Whipple's procedure (pancreatic-biliary surgery), stomach and oesophageal resection. He is also trained in managing complex surgical complications such as Crohn's disease, internal fistulas and post-operative bile duct injuries. Additional general surgical services include thyroid surgery, varicose vein treatment and haemorrhoid surgery.
