Dr. Raafat Aly Ahmad Ammar

Dr Raafat Ammar is a specialist intensivist with more than 27 years of experience managing critically ill patients across multiple organ systems. He graduated from Cairo University's Kasr Al-Ainy School of Medicine in 1989 and went on to complete a Master's degree in Cardiology in 1996, followed by MRCP certification in Internal Medicine from Ireland in 2011. His career has taken him through major teaching and tertiary hospitals in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, where he has led intensive care teams and managed the most complex patient presentations.

Dr Ammar has extensive hands-on experience in general medical ICU, cardiac critical care (coronary care units), post-operative cardiac surgery recovery, trauma ICU, surgical critical care, neuro-critical care and renal failure management. He spent six years as Head of ICU at Maternity and Children's Hospital in Al Hassa, Saudi Arabia, and from 2007 onwards worked as a specialist intensivist at Tawam Hospital in the UAE—a major tertiary centre affiliated with Johns Hopkins Hospital. At Tawam, he managed high-acuity medical and trauma cases alongside complex oncology patients requiring intensive care support.

Dr Ammar is well-suited for patients requiring advanced critical care in hospital settings, particularly those with cardiac emergencies, multi-organ failure, post-surgical complications, or life-threatening trauma. His background combines strong cardiology expertise with broad intensive care training.
