Dr. Parshawn Lahiji

Dr. Parshawn Lahiji is a consultant intensivist in the Department of Critical Care at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi. He holds a Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine and brings 13 years of clinical experience in critical care, emergency medicine, and internal medicine. His training spans top U.S. institutions, including residency at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine at Oregon Health and Science University.

Dr. Lahiji specializes in managing patients with severe acute illnesses, sepsis, and multi-organ complications in the intensive care unit. He played a central role in establishing an extracorporeal life support (ECMO) programme in Santa Monica, which went on to treat 10% of the country's ECMO patients—a testament to his expertise in advanced life-support techniques. His clinical work is paired with active research, particularly focused on sepsis management and ICU protocols designed to improve survival and recovery outcomes.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Lahiji is a dedicated educator and leader. He has delivered lectures, mentored medical trainees, and served in clinical committee leadership roles.
