Dr. Yousif El Tayab

Dr. Yousif El Tayab is a Consultant General Surgeon at Medcare Hospital Al Safa in Dubai, bringing 42 years of surgical expertise. He trained at leading institutions across Africa, Europe, and the UK, earning his medical degree with honours from Cairo University, followed by specialist qualifications including a Master in Clinical Surgery from Khartoum, fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (FRCSI), and fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons UK (FRCS). He also completed minimally invasive surgery training in France.

Dr. El Tayab's practice focuses on gastrointestinal conditions—both benign and malignant—as well as hernia repair, thyroid surgery, anorectal disease, breast conditions, and trauma surgery. His career includes senior surgical roles at the University of Juba in Sudan and the National University College Hospital in Galway, Ireland, where he also lectured. He brings extensive experience in open and keyhole surgical techniques across a broad range of abdominal and general surgical problems.

He holds memberships in the Emirates Medical Association and the Asia Pacific Hernia Association, and serves as a Court Examiner for the Royal Colleges of Surgery in the UK, Glasgow, and Ireland—reflecting his standing in surgical education and training. Dr. El Tayab is fluent in Arabic and English.
