Dr. Binoy Nellissery

Dr. Binoy Nellissery is Head of Pediatrics and Head of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Aster Hospital Al Qusais, Dubai, where he has worked for the past 10 years. He holds fellowships from the Royal College of Physicians and Child Health (FRCPCH, UK) and is a member of the MRCPCH. His training includes a fellowship in neonatology completed under an American Board-certified neonatologist at the University of California, as well as specialist qualifications in paediatrics (DNB) and child health (DCH). He has taught at medical colleges in India and currently leads training programmes for paediatric residents, interns, and nursing staff across the Aster Group.

Dr. Nellissery specializes in the intensive care of newborns, particularly extremely premature babies from 24 weeks of gestation. He manages complex conditions including severe persistent pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary haemorrhage, and bronchopulmonary dysplasia, with expertise in advanced ventilation techniques. He also assesses heart function in preterm babies using echocardiography and provides antenatal counselling for high-risk pregnancies. For older children, he diagnoses and treats developmental delays, recurrent infections, asthma, poor growth, and feeding problems, alongside routine developmental follow-up of preterm infants.

He serves as an examiner for the Royal College of London and the Dubai Residency Training Programme, and is an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Sharjah. His research on antibiotic pharmacology in preterm newborns has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences.
