Dr. Basma Shehabi

Dr. Basma Shehabi is a Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Medcare Hospital, Sharjah, with over three decades of clinical experience. She trained at Damascus University, Syria, where she earned her medical degree and specialist qualification in obstetrics and gynaecology from the Ministry of Health. Her career spans leading JCI-accredited hospitals in Syria and the UAE, including Al Salama Hospital in Damascus and the American Hospital in Dubai before joining Medcare.

Dr. Shehabi's expertise covers the full scope of obstetric and gynaecological care, with particular focus on managing both straightforward and high-risk pregnancies, infertility treatment, and advanced gynaecological procedures. She performs a range of treatments including vaginal and caesarean deliveries, assisted conception support, colposcopy, hysteroscopy, laparotomy, and pelvic floor repair using minimally invasive keyhole techniques where possible. Her clinical interests include preventive women's health such as cancer screening, menopause management, and reproductive health education.
