Dr. Eiman Al Zaabi

Dr. Eiman Al Zaabi is Chair of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi, with 15 years of experience in hematopathology and laboratory medicine. She completed her MBBS at UAE University's Faculty of Medicine in Al Ain and obtained her FRCPC (Canadian Board) certification in Hematopathology in 2007, followed by a Research Fellowship in 2008.

Dr. Al Zaabi specializes in the microscopic examination of blood and bone marrow samples to diagnose blood disorders, blood cancers, and clotting problems. Her clinical focus areas include analyzing peripheral blood cells, bone marrow biopsies, lymph node samples, blood clotting diseases, inherited hemoglobin disorders, advanced flow cytometry analysis for cell identification, and transfusion medicine. She leads multiple hospital committees including the Tissue and Transfusion Committee and chairs the Abu Dhabi Regional Blood Bank Committee and the Radiation Protection Programme Committee.

Recognized for her leadership in laboratory medicine and hospital service improvement, Dr. Al Zaabi has been honored with the Abu Dhabi Medical Distinction Award (2013), the Best Executive Director Award from SEHA (2014), and second place in the Abu Dhabi Excellence Award in Government Performance (2017). She contributes internationally to the ISBT immunohaematology working group and has published peer-reviewed research in her field.
