Dr. Ashraf Elhoufy is a Consultant in Critical Care & Intensive Care Medicine with over 35 years of dedicated experience managing patients in intensive care settings. He graduated with honors from Alexandria Faculty of Medicine in Egypt in 1984 and obtained his Master's Degree in Chest Diseases with a subspecialty in Critical Care in 1989. He holds multiple international qualifications including MRCP (UK), FRCP (London), and the European Diploma in Intensive Care Medicine (EDIC).
Dr. Elhoufy specializes in comprehensive management of critically ill patients, with particular expertise in pulmonary and respiratory critical care, sepsis and infection control, and mechanical ventilation. At Dubai Hospital, he chaired the Infection Control Committee and the Mortality & Morbidity Committee for over two decades and initiated the Antibiotic Stewardship Program. He also serves as Professor of Medicine at Dubai Medical College and has been an Examiner for the Royal College of Physicians since 2008.
He is currently Vice President of the Emirates Intensive Care Society and brings extensive academic and clinical expertise to patient care, combining evidence-based practice with leadership in critical care improvement and medical education.
