Dr. Hazem Helmy Ali Rifaai

Dr. Hazem Rifaai is a consultant rheumatologist with over 22 years of experience treating a wide range of joint and connective tissue diseases. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Cairo University in 1996 and completed his specialist training in rheumatology there in 2002. After gaining extensive experience in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, he moved to the UAE to help develop rheumatology services at a private hospital group before joining Mediclinic Al Noor Hospital in 2020.

Dr. Rifaai treats inflammatory arthritis conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and psoriatic arthritis, as well as connective tissue diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis and Sjögren's syndrome. He also manages gout, osteoporosis, joint pain disorders and chronic pain syndromes including fibromyalgia. He has a special interest in newer biologic therapies that target the immune system to control these conditions more effectively.
