Dr. Abdulwahab Roman

Dr. Abdulwahab Roman is a Consultant Neurologist, Neurophysiologist, and Epileptologist at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi, bringing 19 years of experience in neurology and specialised neurophysiology. Before joining SSMC in 2021, he led the neurophysiology and epilepsy services at Mediclinic City Hospital in Dubai. Prior to moving to the UAE, he was Deputy Head and Lead of the EEG video monitoring unit at Vogtareuth Epilepsy Centre in Bavaria, Germany—one of Europe's leading epilepsy centres—where he also headed the Multiple Sclerosis programme and supervised the cerebrospinal fluid laboratory.

Dr. Roman's clinical expertise encompasses the full spectrum of neurological disorders. He specialises in early diagnosis and treatment of all types of epilepsy and non-epileptic attacks (including syncope and dissociative disorders), sleep disorders, multiple sclerosis, migraines, and other headaches. He is particularly skilled in pain management, having worked extensively at an accredited pain centre, and treats conditions including back pain and peripheral nerve pain. His additional expertise covers stroke, dizziness, and Alzheimer's disease.

He holds numerous German certifications in epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, stroke care, cerebrospinal fluid analysis, ultrasound diagnosis, and neurophysiology. Dr. Roman is an active member of major international neuroscience societies and is well-positioned to manage complex neurological cases requiring specialist investigation and long-term care.
