Dr. Abeesh Padmanabha Pillai

Dr. Abeesh Padmanabha Pillai is a Consultant Nephrologist at Lifecare Hospital in Musaffah, Abu Dhabi, with eight years of specialized experience in kidney care. He completed his medical degree (MBBS) and internal medicine training (MD) at Government Medical College in Madurai, India, before advancing to specialist nephrology training at Madras Medical College in Chennai. Over his career, he has worked as a consultant in leading hospitals across Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

Dr. Abeesh manages the full spectrum of kidney conditions, from prevention and early detection to complex cases requiring dialysis and transplant support. His clinical work spans preventive nephrology (stopping kidney disease before it starts), critical care for acutely ill patients with kidney failure, interventional procedures on kidney blood vessels, kidney transplant care, and all forms of renal replacement therapy including hemodialysis. His research—particularly on antibody-related kidney disease and how dialysis affects blood sugar control—has been recognized with national awards from the Indian Society of Nephrology and the PC Mary Tanker Foundation.

He actively educates patients and the public about kidney health through awareness talks and is fluent in English, Malayalam, and Tamil.
