Dr. Ektha Benny

Dr. Ektha Benny is a clinical psychologist at NMC Healthcare in Abu Dhabi. She holds a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from UAE University (2024) and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from University of Kerala, India (2022). With clinical experience across both public and private hospitals in the UAE, including Tawam Hospital and Al Ain Hospital, she has developed a strong understanding of the cultural diversity of the region and works effectively with individuals from different backgrounds.

Ektha supports adults and children with a broad range of mental health concerns, including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders (generalized anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, specific phobias), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), personality disorders, exam stress, burnout, anger management difficulties, grief, and sleep problems like insomnia. She conducts comprehensive psychological assessments for adults—intelligence testing, personality assessment, neuropsychological evaluation—and for children and adolescents, she assesses cognitive functioning, screens for autism spectrum disorder and ADHD, and evaluates learning difficulties.

She uses evidence-based, integrative therapy approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness techniques, relaxation methods, and positive psychology. She also provides family therapy and parent-skills training when needed. Ektha believes therapy is a collaborative journey grounded in empathetic care and compassionate understanding.
