Dr. Osama Hmidan

Dr Osama Hmidan is a Canadian-trained ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialist with over 20 years of practice across the Middle East, Europe and North America. He holds a PhD in otorhinolaryngology and head and neck surgery, along with master's qualifications from Damascus University and board certifications from the Arab Board. His training spans leading institutions including the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital in London, University College London, and major teaching hospitals in Syria and Egypt, where he gained extensive expertise in both routine and complex surgical cases.

Dr Hmidan treats the full range of ENT conditions: chronic sinus infections, throat and adenoid problems, deviated septum, snoring and sleep apnea, hearing difficulties, and allergies affecting the nose. He performs both minor and major procedures including endoscopic sinus surgery, ear tube insertion, tympanoplasty, septoplasty and rhinoplasty, mastoid surgery, laryngeal procedures, head and neck reconstruction using flap techniques, and removal of foreign bodies from the airway. He has also assisted in complex cases such as maxillary bone removal and angiofibroma resection.

Dr Hmidan brings a multidisciplinary approach, combining surgical skill with knowledge of sleep medicine and hearing rehabilitation—he holds certification as a hearing instrument specialist and advanced training in sleep studies (polysomnography). He is particularly well-suited for patients needing complex or multi-stage ENT surgery, or those with combined sleep and breathing concerns.
