Dr. Ilhaam Said Mohammed Abbas

Dr. Ilhaam Said Mohammed Abbas is a general dentist with over 30 years of clinical experience in the UAE. She specializes in dental care for children and adults with special needs, including those with intellectual disabilities and physical challenges. Dr. Abbas is recognized as the first awardee of the Fellowship in Special Care Dentistry by the International Association for Disability & Oral Health, reflecting her expertise and commitment to inclusive care.

Her clinical practice encompasses pediatric dentistry, sedation dentistry, and dental treatment under general anesthesia—techniques that allow her to care safely for anxious or medically complex patients. She is actively involved in research on vitamin D deficiency and its connection to dental problems in young Emirati children, work that bridges clinical practice with community health.

Dr. Abbas is deeply committed to voluntary service. She has been a long-standing volunteer with Operation Smile, an international charity providing free cleft lip and palate surgeries for children worldwide, and supports Special Olympics as a regional clinical advisor. A founding member of both the Oral Health Technical Committee (Abu Dhabi Smiles) and the Arab Society for Disability and Oral Health, she regularly speaks at conferences and community workshops to raise awareness about oral health and inclusive dental care.
