Dr. Shamim Ahmed

Dr Shamim Ahmed is a paediatrician with more than 25 years of clinical experience in child health. He graduated from Punjab Medical College, Faisalabad, Pakistan in 1982 and has worked in both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia (Ministry of Health) before joining Mediclinic Abu Dhabi. He completed his residency at the National Institute of Child Health in Karachi and earned membership and fellowship credentials from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan.

Dr Ahmed has broad expertise across primary and secondary paediatric care. He is particularly skilled in neonatology (newborn care), allergies and asthma, respiratory illnesses, growth and development monitoring, blood disorders, and childhood gastrointestinal problems. He is also experienced in vaccination programmes and promotion of breastfeeding. His clinical practice is grounded in extensive teaching experience—he has trained medical students and residents at both Hamdard College of Medicine and Dentistry and 7th Day Karachi Adventist Hospital, where he also served as Assistant Professor and Consultant Paediatrician.
