Dr. Sreekanth Ramakrishnan

Dr. Sreekanth Ramakrishnan is a critical care specialist at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi with over eight years of experience. He holds an M.B.B.S. and M.D., and combines clinical expertise with technical proficiency to manage patients in intensive care settings.

Dr. Ramakrishnan treats a broad range of critically ill patients, including those with blood infections (sepsis), heart and lung problems, neurological conditions, post-operative complications, kidney and liver failure, and cancer patients. He is highly skilled in both non-invasive and invasive breathing support techniques, including high-flow oxygen via nasal tubes and managing difficult intubations. He performs ultrasound-guided procedures such as central line insertion (for medication and fluid delivery), fluid drainage from the lungs and abdomen, and emergency ultrasound scans. He also manages kidney dialysis, advanced kidney support (CRRT), and heart-lung bypass machines (ECMO). He has cared for critically ill patients during both the H1N1 and COVID-19 pandemics.
