Dr. Denesh Gopalan

Dr Denesh Gopalan is a Specialist Gastroenterologist at Al Zahra Hospital Dubai, with over 25 years in medical practice and 20 years focused on gastroenterology. He trained in internal medicine at the University of Kerala and completed specialist gastroenterology training at Beaumont and Mater Hospitals in Dublin, Ireland. He holds membership in the American Gastroenterological Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and has been based in Dubai for the past 10 years.

Dr Gopalan specialises in both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy across the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract. He regularly performs upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography), capsule endoscopy, pH monitoring, and balloon dilatation of strictures. His particular expertise includes emergency control of severe gastrointestinal bleeding, management of bleeding haemorrhoids, metal stent placement for bowel obstruction and cancers, treatment of difficult H. pylori infections, and advanced therapeutic endoscopic techniques.
