Dr. Graham Williams

Dr. Graham Williams is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Medcare Medical Centre in Jumeirah with over 20 years of experience in mental health services, primarily within the UK's National Health Service. British-trained and educated, he holds a degree in clinical psychology from the University of Kent and a doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Hertfordshire. He has completed extensive post-doctoral training in evidence-based therapies and is a UK-accredited clinical supervisor.

Dr. Williams specializes in child and adolescent mental health, assessing and treating conditions including depression, anxiety (including obsessive-compulsive disorder), ADHD, and the psychological impact of long-term medical conditions. He has particular expertise in traumatic brain injury, trauma psychology, and perinatal (pregnancy-related) mental health. He offers psychoeducational and neuropsychological assessments, and is skilled in risk assessment for self-harm and suicidal behaviour. His therapeutic toolkit includes cognitive behaviour therapy, trauma-focused CBT, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), dialectical behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and narrative therapy.

Prior to relocating to the UAE, Dr. Williams spent over a decade leading trauma services in child and adolescent mental health, working with vulnerable populations including refugee families. He also worked in general paediatrics at a regional children's hospital and provided expert testimony to family courts. He is committed to research-informed, compassionate care tailored to each patient's individual needs.
