Dr. Carolina Hernandez Ortega

Dr. Carolina Hernandez Ortega is a Specialist Paediatrician at Medcare Medical Centre's JBR branch in Dubai, with nine years of clinical experience. She trained at Universidad Militar Nueva Granada in Bogotá, Colombia, where she earned her MBBS and MD in Pediatrics, followed by specialist training in maternal, perinatal, and pediatric nutrition. She began her career in Colombia working in both government and private hospitals including Hospital Militar Central and Compensar, before relocating to the UAE where she has practiced at New Health Call and Medi Centres Polyclinic.

Dr. Ortega provides comprehensive paediatric care from newborns through age 18, with particular expertise in nutrition, growth and development, and feeding disorders. She treats acute childhood illnesses including upper respiratory infections, fever, gastroenteritis, and urinary tract infections, as well as chronic conditions and complications. She specializes in addressing growth concerns, eating and feeding problems (including picky eating and sensory disorders), obesity, undernutrition, developmental delays, and puberty-related changes. She develops personalized immunization schedules and manages children with multiple chronic conditions.
