Dr. Rema Ayalur Kodakara

Dr. Rema Ayalur Kodakara is a consultant ophthalmologist with over three decades of experience in eye care. She completed her medical degree at Government Medical College, Kozhikode, India in 1992, followed by specialist training in ophthalmology at the renowned Sankara Nethralaya in Chennai (1993–96). She was awarded FRCS (Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons) in Ophthalmology from Edinburgh in 1999, and undertook additional training in retinal lasers at L.V. Prasad Eye Institute in Hyderabad in 2003.

Dr. Rema began her career as a consultant ophthalmologist at The Eye Foundation in Coimbatore, India. She now practises at NMC Healthcare in Sharjah, where she focuses on glaucoma management and retinal conditions. She brings a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, drawing on her extensive training in both general ophthalmology and specialist retinal procedures.

Dr. Rema is fluent in multiple languages including Arabic, English, Hindi, Malayalam, and Tamil, making her accessible to a diverse patient population across the UAE and beyond.
