Dr. Arwa Yashkur Mahmood Al Shahawani

Dr. Arwa Yashkur Mahmood Al Shahawani is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at Mediclinic Abu Dhabi with over 35 years of clinical experience. She trained and began her career in Baghdad, Iraq, qualifying from Baghdad University Medical School in 1985, followed by specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology at a major teaching hospital. She went on to work as a consultant in Iraq and Saudi Arabia before undertaking further training in Canada and joining Mediclinic.

Dr. Arwa manages the full range of obstetric and gynaecological conditions and procedures. She is experienced in managing normal pregnancies and deliveries, assisted vaginal delivery, caesarean sections, obstetric emergencies, infertility, and gynaecological surgery including hysterectomy (removal of the womb), correction of pelvic organ prolapse (sagging), myomectomy (removal of fibroids), ovarian surgery, and management of ectopic pregnancy. She combines clinical expertise with a strong commitment to medical education.
