Dr. Razia Sharafudeen

Dr. Razia Sharafudeen is Medical Director and Head of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department at NMC Royal Hospital, Abu Dhabi. With nearly 20 years of clinical experience, she has supported more than 7,000 births and earned recognition as one of the most trusted obstetricians and gynaecologists in the region. She trained at Government Medical College, Trivandrum, India, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (UK).

Dr. Razia specialises in managing complex and high-risk pregnancies, including medical disorders in pregnancy, recurrent pregnancy loss, and cases with multiple previous caesarean sections. She is experienced in all modes of delivery—normal vaginal births, operative vaginal births, vaginal birth after caesarean (VBAC), and preterm deliveries. She also offers minimally invasive gynaecological surgery, infertility and reproductive medicine, and vaginal procedures including prolapse repair.

Her approach combines technical expertise with compassionate, hands-on patient care. She works with diverse patient populations and manages all levels of clinical complexity. A certified trainer in PROMPT, ALSO, and Advanced CTG interpretation, she brings evidence-based practice and teaching to her role.
