Dr. Subhash Chandran Bhaskaran Pillai

Dr. Subhash Bhaskaran Pillai is a consultant nephrologist with 20 years of clinical experience across India, Canada, and the UAE. He completed his medical degree at Government Medical College in Thiruvananthapuram, followed by general medicine training at Kasturba Medical College in Mangalore. After subspecialty training in nephrology at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital in Mumbai in 2005, he pursued a clinical fellowship in adult nephrology at the University of Toronto, graduating in 2008. His international training has equipped him to manage the full spectrum of kidney disease.

Dr. Bhaskaran Pillai has held several leadership roles, most recently as professor and head of nephrology at Pushpagiri Medical College in India, where he pioneered both living-donor and deceased-donor kidney transplant programs. He oversaw a dialysis unit caring for approximately 200 maintenance patients and established a successful peritoneal dialysis program. Throughout his career, he has been active in clinical research with numerous publications in national and international journals. He previously served in the UAE between 2013 and 2016 as a specialist nephrologist, where he established the nephrology department and hemodialysis unit at Ahalia Hospital in Abu Dhabi.
