Dr. Basma Hussein Mohamed Mersal

Dr. Basma Hussein Mohamed Mersal is an Allergy and Immunology Specialist with over 15 years of clinical experience in diagnosing and managing allergic and immune-related conditions. She holds an MBBCh from Alexandria Faculty of Medicine in Egypt, followed by a Master's degree and PhD in Allergy and Immunology. She completed a doctoral fellowship at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, USA in 2015, and has been an Assistant Professor of Allergy and Immunology at Alexandria University since 2011. She now practises at Mediclinic locations across Dubai.

Dr. Basma treats a wide range of allergic conditions including hay fever, allergic eye inflammation, allergic asthma, chronic cough, food allergies and intolerances, and skin allergies such as rashes, hives and eczema. She performs allergy testing (skin prick and patch tests) and prescribes immunotherapy—a treatment that gradually reduces the body's allergic response—as well as food challenge testing. She also manages immune-system disorders including autoimmune conditions and immune deficiencies.
