Dr. Sathya Kakade

Dr. Sathya Kakade is a consultant ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon practising in Abu Dhabi with 23 years of overall experience, including more than 7 years in the UAE and 16 years specialising in retinal surgery. He trained to postgraduate level in India, obtaining his MS and DNB qualifications, and holds fellowship credentials in vitreoretinal surgery and FRCS certification.

His clinical expertise centres on diseases affecting the retina and back of the eye. He treats diabetic retinopathy (eye damage from diabetes), retinal vascular disorders (problems with blood vessels in the retina), retinal detachments (when the retina separates from the eye wall), macular disorders (affecting the central vision area), uveitis and ocular inflammations. He has published peer-reviewed research on retinal conditions and is active in professional societies across India and Europe.
