Dr. Najmul Shah

Dr. Najmul Hassan Shah is a consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist with more than 35 years of clinical experience, including over 25 years as a senior consultant. He trained extensively in the UK through the NHS, holding consultant positions at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Birmingham Heartland Hospital NHS Trust, and Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals. He now practises in Dubai, where he is recognized among the leading gastroenterologists in the region.

Dr. Shah specializes in upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy and ERCP (a minimally invasive technique for treating bile duct and pancreatic disorders). He has particular expertise in liver disease and transplant hepatology, having founded and led liver donor and transplant services in Islamabad and served as Medical Director and Transplant Hepatologist at PKLI, Lahore. His approach combines evidence-based treatment with compassionate patient care, and he is actively involved in training postgraduate fellows and conducting research.
