Dr. Mohammed Al Hadad

Dr. Mohammed Al Hadad is a Consultant in Bariatric and General Surgery and Medical Director of HealthPoint in Abu Dhabi. He heads the Bariatric & Metabolic Surgery Centre of Excellence, which works closely with the Imperial College of London Diabetes Centre. A graduate of the University of Baghdad College of Medicine, he holds a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics and is an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at Khalifa University for Science and Technology.

Dr. Al Hadad specializes in advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) bariatric surgery and upper gastrointestinal procedures for weight loss and metabolic health. He has directed and instructed more than 250 training courses in advanced laparoscopy, weight-loss surgery, and trauma management across the UAE and internationally. His research on bariatric surgery, endoscopy, and trauma management has been published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, and he serves as Associate Editor of the journal Obesity Surgery.

He is President of the Pan Arab Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery and sits on the Executive Board of both the IFSO MENA chapter and the main International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders. For many years he advised on the UAE University general surgery residency program.
